A community is so much more than a group of homes. It’s about the people who live there, and the lifestyle they enjoy. We are proud of the tight-knit community we have built in Estrella, and that community spirit is due in part to our local schools.
Did you know that we have royalty living among us in Estrella? Miss Teen Arizona International, Isabella Hart, just started her state reign in May. This week, Bella competes internally in Charleston, West Virginia for the world title of Miss Teen International.
Quality education is a priority for our residents and Estrella is proud to have multiple schools inside our master-planned community. As parents begin shopping for back-to-school essentials, we wanted to highlight the two K-8 elementary schools and high school serving our younger residents. Students from all three schools will start the 2017-2018 school year August 2, 2017.
For the past 17 years Estrella has been home to resident and school principal, Sharon Marine, her husband and their three Yorkshire Terriers. Marine is the Estrella Mountain Elementary School Principal, whose vast experience in education includes 13 years of teaching. From teaching, Marine moved to the administrative side and became the assistant principal at Freedom Elementary before returning to Estrella as principal, a position she has now held for six years.
High school students know a little about being on the go - between school, homework, extracurricular activities and the all-important – spending time with their friends, learning how to cook quick, healthy meals is a must. Enter the Culinary Club at Estrella Foothills High School. Under Chef Lisa DeCota’s tutelage, students learn a variety of kitchen skills and even cater local events and compete in statewide competitions.
"Thanks for showing interest in our beautiful community! We are excited to share all that Estrella has to offer. If we can ever be of assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. Welcome to everything Estrella!"
