Fall in Love with Estrella - Estrella Events & Happenings

Top Estrella Events & Amenities for this Fall

As Arizona temperatures continue to drop, now is the perfect time to venture out to enjoy the great outdoors in Estrella. Whether you are with family, friends, or are looking for a relaxing date night activity, Estrella has something for everyone this season. If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite activities and Estrella events that you can look forward to:

Outdoor Amenities
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a breath of fresh air at any of our 40 community and neighborhood parks, 72 acres of lakes, and 50+ miles of walking, hiking, and biking paths and trails. Estrella Mountain hiking options range from easy to expert levels and offer a variety of opportunities for those looking to take a leisurely stroll or exhilarating mountain biking experience. No matter what journey you choose, the trails in Estrella offer panoramic views of the stunning desert and mountains, and encounters with the native wildlife and vegetation.

For those looking to appreciate the cooler weather by spending some quality time out on the green, you can test out your skills at the Estrella Mountain golf course, called the Golf Club of Estrella. The Troon-managed facility is a par 72, 18-hole championship course with large greens and split-level fairways and has been consistently ranked a Top 20 Best Courses You Can Play in Arizona by Golfweek. This Nicklaus Design course weaves seamlessly throughout the desert terrain of the Sierra Estrella mountain range, and offers unbeatable views along with some of the smoothest and best-conditioned surfaces -- creating the ultimate golf experience.

The cooler weather also offers the perfect opportunity to get out on the water with Estrella’s Yacht Club. Take your pick from sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats for a day of fun out in the sun with family and friends.

Estrella Events
Estrella offers a variety of fun-filled events during the fall season that the whole family can enjoy together. For those who are looking to take a break from cooking for the night, you can take advantage of Food Truck Nights open to the public on Sept. 23, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16 at the Starpointe Residents Club West Lot. Food trucks located around the Valley will be there including Back in Thyme, Flippin' Rice, Frosted Frenzy, Screaming Hot Chicken, and El Pastorcito Taqueria*. Guests can also enjoy live music provided by Steve Summers! Be sure to bring a chair and join the community for food, family, friends, live music, and fun! The event is free with food available for purchase.

Another highly anticipated fall Estrella event is Ballet Under the Stars, put on by Ballet Arizona and the City of Goodyear at the Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater on Friday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. This free event will feature a mix of classical and contemporary dance with professional dancers, lighting, costumes, and more. Attendees can pull up a chair or get cozy on a blanket to watch the stunning performance, and be sure to come early to grab a bite from the food trucks. If you are unable to attend the event at the Estrella location, the free ballet can also be experienced at these locations across the Valley:

  • Wednesday, September 29 at Fountain Park, 12925 N Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills
  • Thursday, September 30 at Sahuaro Ranch Historic Park Area, 9802 North 59th Ave., Glendale
  • Saturday, October 2 at Steele Indian School Park, 300 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix

Lastly, on Friday, October 29 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m, residents have the opportunity to eat, drink, and be scary at the annual Fall Scream event. Hosted at Starpointe in Estrella, residents can join in on the thrill through a number of activities such as a haunted maze, ghost stories, food trucks, carnival games, face painting, pumpkin painting (must bring your own pumpkin), a costume contest, and much more. Tickets are available for purchase. Be sure to get your tickets prior to the event as tickets are not available at the door. To learn more about Fall Scream, click HERE.
