The Grand Canyon State is known for being one of the best stargazing states in the country. With 16 designated state parks and reserves, Arizona is home to numerous Dark Sky sites compared to anywhere else in the U.S.
Luckily, in Estrella, residents won’t find many streetlights except for on the main roads, which allows stars to be visible at all hours of the night. While every night is a night under the stars, residents can also enjoy the beautiful reflections of moonlight against the nearby mountains and views of the spectacular constellations.
Stargazing Parks Near You!

Better yet, Estrella offers a fifty-foot-tall Star Tower which is located at the entrance of the community in the village of Lucero. Everything about the tower is intended to help inspire and educate a love for astronomy in the community. Those who reach the top of the tower have spectacular views of both the sky above and the surrounding landscape of the Sonoran Desert. There are 31 astronomical observatories in Arizona that all have professional telescopes and gadgets for visitors to view the constellations.
