March Events in Estrella and Beyond

Part of the “Good in Goodyear” for Estrella residents is living in the Phoenix West Valley, which offers plenty of events, amenities and unique experiences for residents to enjoy. Check out this round up of upcoming Estrella and West Valley events happening in March.

ESTRELLA EVENTS

While Estrella hosts a full calendar of activities that are only for community members (residents, please see the events calendar at lifeinestrella for the full list), a variety of events are also open to residents’ guests and non-residents alike. Come explore the wonderful Estrella community.

March 3: Color Run (open to the public)
Live your life in color at the Estrella Mountain Elementary School Color Run! Every registration includes a t-shirt and medal and all proceeds benefit this local school. Where: North Lake Amphitheater, 17665 W. Elliot Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338
What Time: 9:30am registration, 11am run time

March 9: Community-wide Garage Sale (open to the public)
Embrace your inner bargain shopper at our bi-annual garage sale. When you’re done shopping, consider stopping by Presidio for a bite to eat or for a cool drink at Casa del Mar or the Lakeside Grill.
Where: Community wide
What Time: 7am-2pm
Cost: FREE entry, items available for purchase


March 16-17: Tour of Homes (open to the public)
The 2019 Spring Tour of Homes welcomes visitors March 16-17. Attendees can tour more than 80 properties including model homes, custom home sites, quick move-ins, and resale homes.
Where: Community-wide, with maps at the Estrella Information Center, 10300 S. Estrella Pkwy, Goodyear, AZ 85338
What Time: 11am-3pm

March 16: Estrella Lakeside Farmers Markets (open to the public)
Join us for our monthly farmers market from 10am - 1pm. Come out to North Lake to enjoy local fare, good company, and great shopping. Merchants from across the Valley will showcase specialty items, locally grown produce, fresh breads, pastries, local artwork, and more.
Where: Estrella Information Center, 10300 S. Estrella Pkwy, Goodyear, AZ 85338
What Time: 10am-1pm

March 19: Food Truck Night (open to the public)
Let someone else cook dinner … and dessert! Enjoy the scrumptious offerings of numerous food trucks from around the Valley, including American Poutine, Marcel Waffles, and Sugar Plum. Seating is limited, so bring a camping chair if you have one.
Where: Starpointe Residents Club, 17665 W Elliot Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338
What Time: 5-8pm

March 23: Cruiz’n to the Lakes Car Show (open to the public)
Cruise on down to North Lake for the best car show in the West Valley. From 9am-3pm, enjoy entertainment, food trucks, and, of course, beautiful cars from all eras.

WEST VALLEY EVENTS

March 1-3: Annual Big Maricopa Country Home & Landscape Show
The largest home show in the Southwest, this event is THE place to get inspiration for your next home improvement project. The show will feature an artisan marketplace, DIY workshops/presentations, on-site pet adoptions, and more!
Where: State Farm Stadium, 1 Cardinals Dr, Glendale, AZ 85305
What Time: March 1-2 (10am – 6pm), March 3 (10am – 5pm)

March 2-3: 30th Annual Folk & Heritage Festival
This two-day event combines folk music and the heritage of the historic Sahuaro Ranch Park. In addition to folk music, there will be other activities including storytelling, free kids’ crafts, workshops, and cowboy poetry.

March 2-3: Tres Rios Nature Festival
Fall in love with the rich wildlife and natural habitat where the Gila, Salt, and Agua Fria Rivers meet. Enjoying canoeing, archery, bird watching, and a corn hole tournament.

March 15: Kilt Run
Have you always wanted to break a World Record? The Kilt Run is your chance, as you join the challenge to assemble the largest number of runners in kilts. The entrance fee for the 1K (half-mile) run gets you a kilt, finishers’ medal and a cold beverage at McFadden’s after party.

March 22: Mountain Days: The John Muir Musical in Concert
The Arizona premier of this magnificent story of naturalist John Muir, one of the early founders of the National Park System. Performed by ProMusica Arizona, “Mountain Days” depicts Muir’s passionate quest to explore and preserve the natural beauty of our great country.
