The Villages of Estrella: Establishing Roots in Mountain Ranch
Mountain Ranch was the first of four villages built in the master planned community of Estrella. As the inaugural village (it’s been 25 years since the first residents moved in), it’s a local favorite full of families who have established strong roots in the community. Mountain Ranch homes surround North and South Lakes and the Golf Club of Estrella and are located in the central part of the master planned community which also includes the villages of Lucero (opened in 2019), Montecito (opened in 2007) and CantaMia (an active adult, 55+ village). The village of Mountain Ranch is full of amenities and activities, a perfect place to both relax and play while you enjoy all that the High Sonoran Desert has to offer.
Starpointe Residents Club
On the shore of North Lake you’ll find the 24,400 square foot Starpointe Residents Club – accessible by all Estrella Mountain Ranch and Montecito village members, it’s only a short walk away if you’re lucky enough to live in the village of Mountain Ranch. Have fun with the family at StarSplash WaterPark where you can lounge at the large resort style pool and jump on a waterslide when you’re ready to cool off. The kids will spend hours standing under the Big Dipper, waiting for the giant bucket to fill up and pour out over them. For the more serious swimmers, there’s a three-lane, 25-meter, heated lap pool to take advantage of year-round.
Speaking of fitness—Starpointe Residents Club has a 3,000 square foot fitness facility with a gym full of state-of-the-art equipment to accommodate both weight training and cardio. You’ll feel comfortable here at any age or fitness level. The group exercise classes are taught by certified instructors and offer a great way to stay in shape and make new friends. Classes include yoga, Zumba, Taekwondo, and ballet. Got kids? No problem! Just drop them off at Starpointe’s Pre-Schooner Club where our staff will entertain them with games, toys and, activities. Older kids have their own Youth Center for foosball games, ping pong tournaments, karaoke battles, and more!
For more formal events, Starpointe has meeting spaces for social clubs and ballrooms that are available to be rented out to residents for large events such as weddings, special anniversaries, and milestone birthday parties. And we can’t forget to mention the good eats—Splash! Café and Lakeside Grill are great places to grab a bite.
Have Some Fun
With a dedicated Lifestyle Director busy planning events throughout the year, there’s always something going on in the Estrella community! Gather with friends and family for our annual Goodyear Lakeside Music Festival and dance from day into night as local Arizona bands perform. Every July 3rd the Estrella HOA throws a huge Independence Day celebration, complete with stunning fireworks to light up the night sky. Since 2012 Estrella has been hosting Ballet Under the Stars at the North Lake amphitheater—a free live outdoor ballet performance where community members can reserve their seats in the grass with blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy face painting, art exhibits, food and entertainment before the show! Keep up to date with our regular social events by checking our calendar.
Join a Club
What better way to make friends while pursuing your favorite interests than by joining one of the many social clubs in Estrella. There truly is something for everyone, whether you want to enjoy your favorite hobby or try something new. You can even start a club of your own! Once you’ve found your niche, you can meet up in one of Starpointe’s multi-function rooms where there’s plenty of space for your favorite activities. Here’s a few examples of clubs currently available to community members:
- Estrella Super Heroes: If you like to make a difference by volunteering, this group is for you! The Super Heroes donate their time to organize and participate in fundraising and charity events throughout the community.

Enjoy Nature’s Bounty
Every village in Estrella is surrounded by breathtaking beauty. With more than 40 neighborhood parks, including Bougainvillea Park in Montecito, you can enjoy wide open, grassy space, a fun playground as well as barbecue and picnic areas. The parks and trails are great places for family fun or hanging out with friends. If you’re in the mood for hiking or mountain biking, there are more than 50 miles of paths and trails to choose from surrounding the community including a bike pump track at the Foothills Community park. Take a relaxing stroll around the lakes at sunset and experience the breathtaking views, or get your heart pounding by cycling on our bike pump track. As our community grows, so will your outdoor adventures as we create additional paths, trails, and parks.
In addition to parks and trails, the villages benefit from 72 acres of tranquil lakes. North Lake is the place to go if you’re in the mood for sailing, paddle boating, kayaking, or canoeing. The Estrella Yacht Club provides residents with all equipment and vessels needed, free of charge. You’ll be awed by South Lake’s stunning sunsets; this is the place to take a walk on the beach, enjoy a family barbecue, play a game of basketball, or try your hand at pickleball or tennis on one of the many courts at South Lake Park. There's no doubt that the lakes provide beauty in the Sonoran Desert and a place for fun activities.
If golfing is a way of life for you, like many of our Estrella residents, you’ll feel right at home at the Golf Club of Estrella. Enjoy a par-72, 18-hole championship golf course designed by award-winning Nicklaus Design. After a round, discuss your play with friends at the Player’s Grill & Patio with refreshing drinks and delicious eats.
We understand the importance of childhood education, and residents of Estrella are proud to send their children to stellar schools in the area. Families with school-aged children in our community have access to both Estrella Mountain Elementary, an International Baccalaureate World School and Westar Elementary, a magnet school for the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program that provides quality education for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade, encouraging them to grow through exploration and interaction. The young adults of Estrella benefit from Estrella Foothills High School (EFHS), where they receive an exceptional, enriched education in a fun-filled, creative, and nurturing environment. At EFHS students take advantage of necessary courses that prepare them for high school graduation and a university experience.
Estrella is a full-fledged, master-planned community in all the right ways. No matter which village you chose to reside in – Mountain Ranch, Lucero, Montecito or CantaMia – you find all the amenities that are essential to live a happy and healthy life. Estrella has everything covered, from quality healthcare facilities to assorted dining options to endless recreational activities. The comfortable single-family homes and resort-style living are the perfect combination.
