Lakeside Farmers Market Vendor Spotlight
A monthly staple in Estrella from October through April, the Lakeside Farmers Market is a great way for residents and guests alike to enjoy local fare and great shopping. Held the third Saturday of the month from 10am to 1pm, vendors from around the Valley showcase their goods at North Lake in Estrella.
For some vendors, however, they just travel down the street from their Estrella home. Meet Irene Gonzales, Estrella resident and Lakeside Farmers Market vendor. Learn more about your fellow neighbor and her hand-made jewelry business, I Create.
Gonzales began tapping into her creativity when she became a caregiver for her mother. To help keep her mother mentally active, the pair would sit and enjoy making crafts and sharing memories to pass the time. Two years after her mother’s passing, Gonzales channeled her creativity into jewelry and her passion grew.
In 2015, she started I Create as an artistic outlet and a means to share her passion and participates at numerous farmers markets around the West Valley. Her most popular items feature Lava Beads infused with essential oils. The beads, fashioned into bracelets, earrings, and necklaces are, as their name suggests, made of cooled molten rock from volcanoes. Lightweight and porous, the jewelry Gonzales creates from these beads are comfortable to wear and provide subtle aromatherapy from the oils.
An Estrella resident since 1999, Gonzales enjoys the convenience and friendliness of our Goodyear community. Want to see more of the I Create jewelry?
