Family Holiday Attractions in the Valley
Just a short drive from Estrella, these holiday attractions are certain not to disappoint. Check them out this season.
A winter West Valley staple, downtown Glendale transforms into Glendale Glitters through January 6, 2018. The award-winning, annual event is in its 24th year of celebrating the holiday season and features more than 1.5 million lights on display throughout the sixteen blocks of the downtown district. This is the largest free holiday display in Arizona. Guests of all ages will enjoy live performances, hand-crafted gifts and delicious food from local vendors, a petting zoo, and children’s snow field. While the lights will be illuminated nightly, the majority of events take place on the weekends. Visit glendaleaz.com/glitters for additional information.
Experience the North Pole without having to leave Arizona at the Winter Wonderfest in Chandler. Guests of all ages can enjoy making toys, ornaments, and stockings in Santa’s Workshop and take photos with Kris Kringle himself. With more than 50 vendors onsite, a 300-foot-long zip line, rock climbing wall, Ferris wheel and campfires with s’mores, this is one holiday event you and the family will not want to miss. Winter Wonderfest is open every weekend until December 24. Discover more on winterwonderfestaz.com.
A glimmering holiday tradition returns to the Valley as the Phoenix Zoo presents ZooLights!
Running nightly through January 14, 2018, the zoo is transformed with hundreds of light displays, millions of lights and a three-story lighted tree. Guests can also enjoy rides and a nightly “snowfall” as they wander throughout the zoo. Be sure to bundle up as the vast majority of ZooLights is enjoyed outside.
