Morning Kayak, Sunset Sail, and Catch Your Big Fish
“Live life in every direction.” More than just a motto, the phrase embodies the way residents in Estrella live. As the outdoors beckon, many are excited to enjoy the more than 72 acres of lakes and all the different ways to experience them.
When you live here, you are free to sail the open waters on North Lake. Just select your favorite complimentary water vessel from the Estrella Yacht Club. The Club has a wide assortment of sailboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats, and offers sailing lessons for the more daring. If you prefer to keep your feet planted on dry land, keep your anchor ashore and enjoy the sights and sounds of the community on the surrounding paths ideal for jogs and stroller-walks. No matter how you enjoy it – our lakes are home to great photo opportunities and many exciting Estrella events, like the annual Goodyear Lakeside Music Festival.
Deeper into the community, you’ll find South Lake, which hosts its own fun ways to live life in every direction. Locals can frequently be found relaxing the day away at the picnic area with BBQ grills, a volleyball court, and shaded playground all available near the South Lake beach. With serene views of the local mountains and desert, the smaller of the two Estrella lakes is a great place to walk your leashed four-legged friends or let them walk you.
Both lakes are routinely stocked with catfish, tilapia, bass, carp, koi, and goldfish and offer catch-and-release fishing for Estrella residents. Be sure to stick around either North or South Lake during sunset as they offer breathtaking, vibrant hues for that perfect Instagram moment. Tag your lake and other Estrella-area photos with #LifeInEstrella for a chance to be featured on Instagram.com/EstrellaAZLife, our official Instagram page.
Whether you are taking in Estrella on the water or on the shore, there are many fun reasons to spend a day at the lakes. To learn more about North or South Lake, or to discover upcoming lakeside events, contact the Estrella Information Center at 623-386-1000.
