Your Guide to the Arts in Estrella

Opportunities to experience the arts close to home are abundant if you live in the Estrella community. Estrella has long been a supporter of the arts and promoting family-friendly cultural programs. While festivals, concerts and art shows are always on the calendars there are two unique signature events worth bragging about.

Each spring the community hosts the Goodyear Lakeside Music Fest at Estrella. Designed to be a true celebration of music and culture, the day-long festival features more than half a dozen live bands spanning a variety of genres. In partnership with the City of Goodyear and West Valley Arts Council the music fest is free and open to the public. The festival also includes an art expo, beer and wine garden and food vendors.

Every fall, Ballet Arizona descends upon Estrella for its annual Ballet Under The Stars series. The free event is open to the public and magically transports the ballet’s spectacular production of classical and contemporary dance to a unique outdoor setting.

Those looking for more hands-on art experiences are encouraged to head over to the Creative Arts Academy at Estrella Mountain Church. The Academy offers a wide variety of art classes for all ages – from preschool to senior adults.  Classes feature many types of art including: painting and sculpting, photography, culinary arts, drama, and writing.

The three K-12 schools in our community – Estrella Foothills High School, Westar Elementary and Estrella Mountain Elementary – offer students a variety of arts programs including dance, choir, drama, and visual arts.

Whether you want to watch or participate, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the arts in Estrella. Be sure to check our website and for more information about events and resident groups designed to engage art lovers of all kinds.
