Presidio Residents Club Groundbreaking

Newland Communities is pleased to announce Estrella’s second residents club, Presidio, which broke ground on June 12. In preparation for this highly anticipated new community addition extensive research was conducted to better understand what are the most important amenities to residents and today’s homebuyer. Estrella is growing and it is essential for Newland to focus on the needs of today's consumer, which continues to want a community that meets the needs of their active lifestyle, while focusing on health, wellness and social gatherings. The result will be a club designed to help meet the needs of our growing master-planned community.

Designed in the rustic, Mediterranean character of Andalusian architecture, some of the most significant features of the new, 18,500 square-foot facility include a morning café with coffee and pastries, which doubles as a beer/wine bar later in the day, a teaching/demonstration kitchen, a great room with a fireplace, a 3,400-square-foot fitness facility, a teen area with a private courtyard and a boardroom with multi-functioning furniture, TV, stereo and sound system. Presidio will also provide a a 650-square-foot patio, with misters, overlooking the pool area, an outdoor living space with seating and a fireplace, event lawn, pool building with covered loggia and outdoor shower and restrooms, pool with a beach entry, splash pad/kid's area, shade structures, and a covered barbeque area.

The building will incorporate heavy timber detailing on exterior roof eaves and interior ceilings as well as the use of traditional stucco, stone and brick building materials. The interior will also incorporates this style with handmade tile flooring, decorative wall tile accents, wood paneled ‘old world’ doors and wood paneled wall accents. The décor will be rooted in a light neutral color pallet with blue, mustard and caramel accents.

The architect, Dahlin Group, Pleasanton, Calif., designed the new Presidio center and Engle design will be charged with the interior colors, accents and overall aesthetic design. The general contractor, Wespac Construction, will include sustainable features such as an energy-efficient heating and cooling system and high-performance walls of structural insulated panels and insulated concrete forms.

Newland is very excited to move forward on Presidio and anticipate its opening to be sometime during the summer of 2016. Please check for additional information as it becomes available on our website,
