Ten Unique Places to Take House Guests in the West Valley

Having friends and family visit from out-of-town is a nice treat, but you may not want to spend the whole time cooped up at home. We’ve scoured the town to bring you some of the top West Valley attractions.

 

  •  Arizona Broadway Theatre
    Known for picking most of it's talent from auditions in New York City, the professional dinner theater delights guests with Broadway-style shows eight times a week.

 

  •  Cerreta Candy Company
    Glendale's hometown chocolate factory, tours are provided Monday-Thursday at this locally owned business that has been in the Cerreta family for more than 40 years.

 

  •  Corral West Adventures
    Wild West experiences include horseback riding and cowboy cookout adventures in Estrella Mountain Regional Park.

 

  •  Challenger Space Center
    This museum is Arizona's only museum dedicated to all things space and The Center features artifact exhibits, interactive activities and simulated missions.

 

  •  Lake Pleasant Regional Park
    The largest lake in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, the park itself covers over 23,000 acres and is a great spot for camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and picnicking.  Also at the park is Indian Mesa where at the top of the Mesa are the ruins of a village built by the Hohokam Puebloans about 1000 years ago.

 

  •  Main Event Entertainment 
    An “Eat.Bowl.Play.” destination, the Main Event offers a little of everything from bowling, laser tag and arcade games to inspired dining and creative cocktails.

 

  •  Phoenix International Raceway
    A world-class motorsports facility, work with a personal driving instructor and then take a few laps behind the wheel of a NASCAR® Stock Car or choose the ULTIMATE racing adventure with 60 full laps.   Better yet, take in a race and get pit passes so you can get up close and personal look at your favorite race team and driver. 

 

  •  Westgate Entertainment District
    Offering a vibrant outdoor setting and home to more than a dozen restaurants, a move theater, shopping and a full schedule of special events, Westgate is a hub for West Valley activities.

 

  •  Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium
    Open 365 days a year, the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium features the largest collection of exotic animals in Arizona.  No only does it feature a 15acre Safari Park it also boast a 15 acre exhibit of North, Central and South American animals.

 

  •  Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino
    In the mood for a little Vegas but don't want to travel that far?  One of three Gila River casinos in the Valley, Vee Quiva has more than 900 slots, table games, a separate poker room and 550-seat bingo hall. 


In addition to these attractions, the West Valley is full of great shopping and dining options as well as a variety of parks and hiking destinations.
