Newland Communities, the developer of Estrella, hosted a public grand opening of their newest community, Montecito at Estrella, on Saturday, October 6. More than 1,500 visitors gathered in Bougainvillea Park, one of 15 parks planned for the community, to learn more about Montecito, enjoy live entertainment by The Chadwicks and meet stars of High School Musical.
“Newland Communities was thrilled with the success of our Montecito at Estrella grand opening,” said Jennifer Brillowsky, marketing director for Newland Communities. “Families make up 50 percent of our target buyers, so we felt an appearance by stars of High School Musical would be a wonderful compliment to our main attraction, the model homes by four fabulous builders. I was excited to see so many people touring the models during the event.”
Throughout the afternoon, shuttle buses transported visitors around the community stopping at each of Montecito’s four distinctive homebuilder complexes: Ashton Woods Homes, David Weekley Homes, Morrison Homes and Rosewood Homes.
At the park, fans of the popular TV movie met stars Monique Coleman and Chris Warren Jr. while listening to music by The Chadwicks and snacking on a variety of treats. Greg Bielli, president of the Western Region for Newland Communities, and the Montecito homebuilders were also on hand for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the community.
“The Grand Opening of Montecito at Estrella was a huge success for David Weekley Homes,” said Mark Weber, Phoenix division president for David Weekley Homes. “We pride ourselves on providing the best in design, choice and service and are excited to offer such an outstanding product at Estrella.”
Added John Waldron, vice president of sales and marketing for Morrison Homes, "It was great to see hundreds of prospective buyers visit our models during the grand opening event. The amazing views, pristine location and home selections have really been a big hit at Montecito."
In addition to touring the model homes visitors to the Montecito grand opening had the opportunity to taste entrees by Mad Coyote Joe, test their agility at a rock climbing wall and help a good cause at the charity dunk tank.
Local celebrities including Mrs. Arizona America and members of the Phoenix Roadrunners dared visitors to try and dunk them for a dollar per throw. All proceeds benefited the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on behalf of 8-year-old, Goodyear resident, Joshua Gass.
While the grand opening gave visitors a sample of life at Montecito, future residents will also enjoy the community’s linear park trail system, as well as Estrella’s existing 18-hole championship Nicklaus-designed golf course and the Estrella Yacht Club which boarders a portion of the communities 72 acres of lakes. In addition, residents will have access to the spacious Starpointe Residents Club, StarSplash waterpark and fitness center.
