Estrella by Newland Communities, a 1,400-acre community located in Goodyear, has announced the new name of its golf course, Golf Club of Estrella. This 18-hole, par-72 championship course is a Nicklaus-designed course and covers a spectacular 7,102 yards.
“Golf Club of Estrella is an extraordinary amenity we can offer our residents and the community of Goodyear,” said Greg Bielli, president of the Western Region for Newland Communities, the developer of the property. “The picturesque greens and fairways of the Nicklaus-designed course are accentuated by the natural desert surroundings to create an Arizona golf experience unique to Estrella.”
Along with the name change, Golf Club of Estrella unveils its new logo featured on all merchandise including apparel, equipment and accessories at the golf shop as well as new signage and golf carts. The course is managed by Troon Golf, and is the first Nicklaus-designed daily-fee course in Phoenix. The multiple tees accommodate all playing levels, offering a challenging course in a beautiful desert landscape. Surrounded by the stunning Sierra Estrella Mountains, natural desert washes are incorporated into the course. Golf Club of Estrella has membership programs and offers clinics, private lessons and is home to an ESPN Golf School.
Other course amenities include the Player’s Grill Restaurant and a practice facility, which boasts a two-tiered driving range offering spectacular views of the Sierra Estrella Mountains, and two putting greens for players to practice before a round of golf. The course has received numerous accolades including “Top 10 Best Public Golf Courses” by Ranking Arizona and ranked seventh in “America’s Best Courses State by State” by Golfweek.
