As a result of its second annual Life is good® Pumpkin Festival, Newland Communities, one of the nation’s largest community developers, recently presented a check for more than $15,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The developer hosted its nationally-recognized pumpkin festival in eleven communities in seven states across the country in October. Estrella by Newland Communities generated proceeds to benefit Phoenix Children’s Hospital at its local festival in Goodyear, Ariz.
“The Life is good® Pumpkin Festival was a wonderful fall celebration and the perfect way to bring families together to support Phoenix Children’s Hospital,” said Angela Eliason, Special Event Coordinator at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. “We are pleased with the support and donation from Newland Communities, which will allow us to continue to grow and provide the best healthcare for local children and their families.”
The Estrella Life is good® Pumpkin Festival was attended by more than 2,500 children and adults who carved toothy grins into thousands of pumpkins and enjoyed good old-fashioned games, live music and great food. The festival also benefited Homeaid, a leading national non-profit provider of housing for today’s temporarily homeless.
“We are delighted with the turn out for our second annual Life is good® Pumpkin Festival and are pleased to present more than $15,000 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital as a result,” said Greg Bielli, president of the Western Region for Newland Communities. “This event not only brought the community together, but also helped children and families in Arizona and across the country.”
Eleven Newland communities held Life is good® Pumpkin Festivals, including 4S Ranch (San Diego, Calif.), Whitney Ranch (Rocklin, Calif.), Estrella (Goodyear, Ariz.), Cinco Ranch (Katy, Texas), Summerwood (Houston, Texas), Falcon Pointe (Austin, Texas), Sterling on the Lake (Atlanta, Ga.), Clarksburg Town Center (Clarksburg, Md.), Ladysmith Village (Ladysmith, Va.), FishHawk Ranch (Tampa, Fla.) and MiraBay (Apollo Beach, Fla.).
The alliance between Life is good®, an apparel company that spreads good vibes through its colorful collection of clothing and accessories, and Newland Communities gives both companies an expanded way to reach out and give back to communities across the country. At each of the Pumpkin Festivals, funds are raised through the sale of specially designed Life is good® Pumpkin Festival tee shirts, merchandise, Estrella Glow Heart Hand Carved Pumpkins and public donations.
