The City of Goodyear's free 4th of July celebration will be held at Goodyear Ballpark from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The event will feature live music, food vendors and fun kids’ activities. This season’s annual Movie Nights at the Ballpark will be held July 11 at 7:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m. on August 1 and September 5. Grab a blanket and enjoy a free family movie on the outfield lawn. The City of Goodyear will be hosting its “Dry Heat” comedy night at Goodyear Community Park on August 9 from 8 to 10 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, just bring a blanket or lawn chair and your favorite snacks and enjoy performances from some of the funniest comedians in the Valley. Football fans are not out of luck this summer as the Arizona Cardinals now host training camp at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Summer is a great time to visit indoor, air-conditioned, museums and the Valley is home to many great facilities including the Phoenix Art Museum, Heard Museum, Arizona Science Center and Children’s Museum of Phoenix. Many of these locations host special summer hours or rates such as the Heard’s “Free Admission Sundays” throughout the month of July and the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, normally closed Mondays, will be open seven days a week during July. The Phoenix Art Museum will keep its popular Hollywood Costume exhibit on display through July 6 and the Developing Photographic Books exhibit will run until mid-August.
Ballet Arizona will once again bring the magic of dance to Goodyear with its 17th annual Ballet Under the Stars series at Estrella. The ever popular sunset performance series presents the magic of the ballet in a unique outdoor setting - complete with stage, lighting, costumes and beautiful Arizona weather. The free performance will be held at the Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater on Friday, September 26 starting at 7 p.m.
